Maine Moose Hunts - Ivan Murphy
I am Ivan Murphy of Maine Moose Hunts. I was born and lived here in Northern Maine for all my life. I started out hunting with my family at a very young age and figured it our right then that it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. As I started harvesting bear and deer at a young age I knew after a few that I wanted to share my passion with others. So I starting guiding back in the 80's when I was old enough to obtain my guides license.
I started out doing bear hunts over natural food sources and doing quite a bit of hound hunting for bear. As the years progressed I got into the bear baiting more and more. Now that's mostly what I offer giving others the pleasure of harvesting a bear. I also got into moose hunting and guiding back in the late 80's and early 90's.
(Now moose is my major passion.) There is nothing like having a 1000# bull closing in grunting every step.
I love be able to draw bulls into single digit yards for hunters to harvest. I have slowed up quite a bit but do offer a few bear hunts and moose hunts every year. I only take on just a few to give others the kind of hunt I would want to go on.

My name is Neal Herrman I’m born and raised here in northern Wisconsin on a dairy farm. Started hunting when I was a kid and now hunt everything I possibly can here in Wisconsin and other states. I’ve been bear hunting for over 20 years in Wisconsin. Either over bait or with hounds we’ve been able to take some great Wisconsin bears over the years. I enjoy getting kids and first time bear hunters a bear. The excitement is worth the work!

From Idaho and naturally having a passion for the outdoors my whole life, I got my first bear encounter while hunting in 1997. Although I was deer hunting, I became so curious about the bears, that’s all I thought about on my hunting trip, so I decided I would start baiting them in the spring season of 1998. After a couple seasons of trial and error (because of no internet or knowing anybody that baited bears), I finally bagged my first bear in the fall of 1999! I went on to killing good bears every year for 10 straight years and also helping young hunters and first-time hunters get bears as well. For the last couple years, I have become more interested in learning what the bears really like and how they react to different things, than shooting them. So I have started picking a brand new bait spot every year, along with my 2 “go-to” spots. Every time I put a new bait out in a new location, it allows me to learn what I am doing right or wrong with new bears. By baiting the same spots every year, you’ll have the same bears ready to feast and you can’t really gauge new techniques, etc. My son is now the “bear killer” in the family and has killed 2 bears in the first 2 years of his young hunting career. I love taking people to sit on a bait 15 yards away that have never done it. I get just as much enjoyment watching them shake as I do the actual kill! Ever since learning about Bait Em’ 907 in 2010, I have been using their products religiously. I have never seen a lure work as well as theirs have. I have also never had so much fun watching a bear TRY hard to find my scent thru the anise ‘force field’ I have over my baits! They just can’t resist, even though they know they should be weary.
I am so passionate about bear hunting that I HAVE to bait in the fall during our elk hunting trips, even though my hunting partners don’t want me “smelling greasy”. I elk hunt in the mornings and sit the baits in the evenings. I’ll never get used to seeing that big bruin come into the bait—they are majestic animals that I have much respect for.
Tad Sherman is the epitome of a true sportsman/outdoorsman. He has an intense fire for backcountry hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and bird hunting. His admiration for the great outdoors is shared with his young sons, Ty & Sam. While he enjoys competitive shooting, his hunger for antelope, bear and especially back country elk hunting far surpass any other species or outdoor experience.
Accomplishments include; Idaho State Bow Hunter of the Year 3 times, several “best of species” awards, Big Game Chairman and Director of Competition for the Idaho State Bow-hunters and is currently the President of Idaho State Bow-hunters. However, supporting and assisting others during a hunt are among his most gratifying accomplishments to date. He works hard to promote archery in the community and a well recognized figure all over the state of Idaho.

My name is Rob Schneider, I was born in California as the son of a military father who moved around his entire life. Upon completing High School, I followed in my father’s footsteps and joined the United States Air Force as a Security Forces member and later became a Military Working Dog Handler, my passion for hunting grew while stationed at Elmendorf AFB in the great state of Alaska. I self-taught myself to hunt while in Alaska by reading, watching DVD’s, and videos online.
It all started on the Denali Highway where I took my first Caribou and my love for hunting would grow beyond that. Every fall my wife dreads it because I’m never home as I’m out chasing animals. I began chasing bear’s in the mountains of the Chugach Range via spot and stalk and then moved onto baiting bears on the Kenai peninsula. It became an addiction. There is nothing that gets the adrenaline going more than watching a bear come in yards from you and eat, it’s never a dull moment chasing these magnificent creatures.
While hunting in Alaska I was lucky enough to harvest a Boone & Crockett Caribou from the 40-mile herd in 2015 and later two Rocky Mountain Billy Goats, also from the mountains of Alaska. In late 2016, I was unfortunately relocated from Alaska to Mountain Home, ID. While one day I will return to Alaska, It was in Idaho however, I was finally able to connect on my first bear over bait in the spring of 2017. To this day I continue to expand my knowledge on hunting, from hunting Elk, to Mule Deer, to Bear, and Coyotes in the Mountains and plains of Idaho.
In February 2018 I Co-founded the North American Bear Hunters group on Facebook with my good friend and bear baiting partner Jeff Borron. This group was created to bring bear hunters from all over together to share their stories, tips & tricks, etc. While the group is geared towards bear hunting anyone is welcome that want to learn or enjoys the stories. Hunting is a great past time for everyone to become a part of. Some call it an addiction, I call it a passion! We look forward to seeing everyone out there!

My name is Mathew Malnoske. I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. I take advantage of this great state’s hunting as much as I can. Bowhunting has been my passion for a long part of my life and continues to fuel my adventures. Bear baiting has become very important in the last 7 years, bringing friends and family closer with all the thrills, hard work and learning experiences. It is something that other bear baiters can appreciate new or experienced. We have used baitem907 products ever since the business started and the products have worked amazing, keeping our bait very active every spring. I look forward to working with this team at baitem907.
My name is Scott Armstrong. After I graduated from college several years ago, I moved to Alaska to pursue my career. As I searched for avenues to test my mind and body I came to the realization that Alaska held great opportunities for a rookie hunter. I connected with Mat and the two of us have learned together through trial and error.
Over these past few years I have developed a love/hate relationship with bow hunting—I love it when things go well, but I hate mistakes and missed opportunity. Bear hunting is a great way to hone archery skills, and the physical demands of the sport help keep me disciplined.
After all the prep is done, it is reassuring to know that Bait’ems products are there to work for us. These baits are key to our bow hunting success because we know we can rely on them to put the animals where we need them to be. I can’t wait for next year’s hunt!
